The UK says not to do another PCR test until 90 days later.

IsabellesMissingSock · 03/08/2021 11:13

What tests do you need to go to Greece? They test on arrival don't they?

I tested positive on 21 July or thereabouts. Still getting faint positive on LFT despite being out of my ten days' quarantine. Not doing a PCR for a while as like PP said, they can show as positive for up to 90 days.

Thanks guys... yes people are saying potentially positive for 90 days ...all our lateral flows clear x

Well in that case you are probably ok to go, the potential issue is what happens if you test positive on the day 2 (and day 8? Is that required for Greece?) PCR tests back in the U.K. Are you able to quarantine? If so then you are probably fine!

Pissinthepottyplease · 03/08/2021 11:24

The U.K. needs you to do a PCR on return. I’m not sure how you will deal with that.

eightlivesdown · 03/08/2021 11:26

4 of you, so it only needs 1 to test positive. Better to delay the trip.

MsChanandlerBoing · 03/08/2021 11:29

My partner was in a similar situation - thankfully the country he has travelled to does not need you to test if you have recently had covid and have the paperwork to prove it. Check if this is possible for you - he took printouts of his test results with the date on it.

He’s going to do a lateral flow test equivalent to travel back to the U.K. as he knows his lateral flow tests are negative and has just accepted that his PCR tests on day 2/day8 may be positive and he might need to self isolate again.

It’s stupid that you’re told not to test for 90 days and you’re also given a domestic covid “passport” for 90 days after a positive test but still have to test on return from travel.

That's a good point - a certificate of recovery seems to be OK for Greece according to the FCDO website

flippyfloppy · 03/08/2021 12:36

Thanks everyone we both have certificate of recovery it's in the Covid travel passport but I read it needs to be between 30-180 days post virus for Greece .
