I am on day 5 of having covid and oh my god this is awful! I'm not bed bound which I'm grateful for and my fever seems to have subsided which is good but I just feel so unwell still, I can't even describe it, I feel completely exhausted! Even after I have a shower I have to lay down for a while, making some lunch feels like a huge task and looking after my 14 month old is really difficult 😞 my blocked nose has gone and I've not really had achey arms and legs but I've had a horrible cough, fever, pressure in my face, fatigue, nausea and a woozy feeling. I'm usually quite fit and active and this has taken me by surprise! How long did it take for you to feel well again? Well enough to feel like you could go for a walk? Not that I'm going for a walk until I'm out of isolation! 😊 I also have health anxiety and postpartum anxiety and I'm terrified like I've never been terrified before in my life.

I have long Covid so whilst I am better than I was I still struggle 7 months on. My best advice to you is rest as much as you can. Reduce your energy outlay for any daily tasks. Sit on a chair or stool to shower, buy prepared food, sit down to prepare food, walk around the house first and build that and household tasks up before even thinking about walking outside. DO NOT rush back to any kind of exercise for quite a while and when you do do gentle yoga, chair based tai chi, qi gong or rehab exercise. You need to be stable energy wise caring for your child before adding in anything more. Once out of isolation accept all family and friend support you can to give you more chance to rest.

The more you rest now the better for your recovery.

I can signpost to lots of information so if you are still struggling in a few weeks then if you PM me I can give you lots of information on recovery, how and where to get help.

If you get to 4 weeks and are still struggling then you meet the criteria for long Covid and it is worth seeking access to the long Covid clinics at that stage via your GP because the wait is long so the earlier you get on the list the better for getting support.

So sorry, it is a horrible virus.

I'm on day 4 (I think) and utterly exhausted.

I had a bath earlier, not washed for days, and it totally wiped me out. Had to lay down with wet hair and sleep for a couple of hours. I've never known tiredness like it. I'm usually fit and have an active job but I'm floored.
