Covid certificate expiry date

Hi there, sorry if there has been another thread on this but I couldn't see one.
I have just downloaded the NHS app to get my covid certificate and it has an expiry date on it for the end of this month. I didn't know they expired. What happens after that? I'm double jabbed, that's not going to change by the end of the month!

It's just the date on the app, it will extend- it's been happening since the app started registering vaccines. It's not related to the validity of the vaccine.

The certificate itself has a validity period, from the day you download it, it is valid for a month. If you download another one next week, it will be valid for a month from that date of download

It’s just got a set time every time you download it, what do you need it for?

I thought the same as you at first!

Whenever you reload it, its "expiry" date is in one month - think it's completely notional.

So tomorrow it will "expire" one month tomorrow, and so on.

Why is mine valid for a month, but DH's only valid 48hours??
He has had to download twice now this week whereas mine is fine until end of August.
Both double vaccinated at the same GPs, on the same days.

Bumping- does anyone know the answer?

It does say on the app that it renews every time you log in (don't know about the 48h thing, sorry).

I don't, I'm afraid, but I'm having the same problem so I hope someone else knows!

Its absolutely ridiculous and bloody typical of this country. Wouldnt you think they’d be glad of less friggin admin and some satisfied users!

Yeah, it's v odd. It's even weirder when he had same vaccine (AZ), same days, same GPs. So why only 48hours validity?
Thankfully we're not going away, but if we wanted to, how could we if we'd need to show status for a full week, say?

It is ridiculous, you are right @Capricornandproud. Is there any sense behind why it's set up like this?
