Booster shots

Does anyone know please if with Booster shots the government is going to give is going to be the same brand shots as our first two shots? I only ask because I have a clotting issue and the blood clotting stats came out after my 1st AZ but the government advice at the time was not to mix shots so it was a bit stressful having my 2nd AZ shot. Thank you.

I think they're planning to give everyone Pfizer.

ArianaG · 02/08/2021 11:14

Pfizer I think according to the news

RoseWineTime · 02/08/2021 11:17

Pfizer and Moderna I think

Aposterhasnoname · 02/08/2021 11:21

It’s all over the news that it’s going to be Pfizer,
But that irrelevant as it’s now been found the blood clot risk is the same for both jabs.

I had two AZ and I really hope I get a Pfizer or moderna next time but knowing my luck they will have a new vaccine licensed by then , like novovax, and I will be given that , then I will have the worry again about new side effects from a new vaccine or how effective it is ! But fingers crossed it will be on of the mRNA ones

It's a pre-print, non-refereed, so I would be a bit careful before it's actually published. And studies as well as data from different countries can often differ.

They are planning to give a different vaccine from whatever you had first because trials have shown this gives greater immunity. So if you had AZ you get Pfizer booster.
