Chesty cough after second vaccine

Has anyone else had this? I had my second Pfizer jab on Saturday and had awful side effects, severe fatigue, headache, aching joints etc but I have also developed a really chesty cough. I have taken an LFT which was negative and booked a PCR just in case, but I haven’t really been anywhere other than the vaccine centre where everyone wore masks and stayed 2m apart. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this? It seems too much of a coincidence to be unrelated.

Yes I've had the exact same symptoms after my second dose of the same vaccine. Took me a good 4 days to feel better but still got awful cough

Thanks @Boboparadise, I hadn’t seen any mention of a cough as a side effect before but good to know that that’s probably all it is.

My husband developed a full blown cold and chesty cough, lft and pcr negative too.

Not disregarding a possible vaccine side effect but I have the exact same symptoms and my second jab was over three weeks ago so I don't think there is any connection.

Covid test is negative, I think I just have some sort of standard cold type virus (there are loads circulating at the moment). It could be that you have just picked something up at around the same time as you had the vaccine.

Fingers crossed we all get better soon!

Turns out it wasn’t vaccine side effects after all - I’ve tested positive for covid Sad

Sorry to hear that op. 💐💐

Sorry to hear that, do you think you caught it at the vac centre? Seems a bit quick. Hope you get over it well.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 03/08/2021 12:24

I thought so at first @penni00 but you’re right, it would be too quick, my symptoms started the same day I attended the appointment so it’s more likely I caught it a few days before. I did go out Wednesday night for dinner and drinks so I guess it’s more likely I caught it then.
