2 year old symptoms

Has anybody’s 2 year old had it?

Our little one came down with a fever last night and it’s still up and down with calpol. He’s absolutely fine in himself - he’s not eating or drinking as much but behaviour wise he’s fine.

Been for a PCR this morning but just wanted to see other people’s experiences.

Myself and my four year old twins have tested positive this week. They have had a high fever which comes down with calpol but then creeps back up again. Whilst it is down and normal, they'll happily play but they go off again when the temp creeps up again. Appetites affected slightly but still eating, just not as much. A cough, slight snotty nose and raspy throat. That's all. I have no symptoms at all!

My 1 year old was completely asymptomatic when the rest of us had covid. There are a lot of other bugs going around at the moment. Could it be RSV or tonsillitis?

It’s come back negative so must be something else going around.

At 2 it's just as likely they've picked up another virus, not covid. Obviously you needed to get him tested the test will tell you either way. Test results aren't taking long now so hopefully won't have to wait long. If it is covid he will likely recovery very quickly. Young children don't seem to struggle too much with it. Think mine had it at the beginning with no tests at the time. They felt rough for a few days but bounced back quickly.

Good news. There is a lot going around! Speedy recovery!

My 2 year old tested positive when we all did. No real symptoms beyond runny nose for her - which to be honest is a near-permanent state of affairs! 4 year old was a bit lethargic for a couple of days, but nothing dramatic. Glad you've dodged it - but it wasn't any worse than the average bug for either of mine (apart from the ten days housebound! That nearly killed us all! 🙄).
