Sorry if this has been asked before.

So my dd tested positive today, she was with my mum and sister Friday. Do they need to isolate?

When did she get symptoms?
Contacts are those you were close to in the 2 days before symptoms or the day of your test (if no symptoms)

Frazzled2207 · 26/07/2021 12:55

If it was less than 48 hours before she first developed symptoms, or did the test, then yes

dazzlerdo · 26/07/2021 13:08

Thanks for your replies. She started with cold symptoms last Tuesday. I didn't test her as she's only 2 and she's always getting bugs from nursery.

Had a call this morning from nursery advising she needs to isolate due to another child in her room testing positive, her isolation will end Sunday. I decided to "try" and do a test on her after the phone call and it's positive

If she has had symptoms for that long then everyone she has been in contact with going back to a week ago yesterday should isolate but she will need to isolate for ten days from today as I don’t think you can guarantee she doesn’t have a cold and asymptomatic covid at the same time.

Yes will start her isolation from today and let everyone know who's been around her

Won’t test and trace do that? They may need the official notification as well for work etc

Queenfreak · 26/07/2021 13:24

You say you tested today- do you mean the lateral flow asymptomatic tests?
If you got a positive with that you then need to take a pcr test- either at a centre or a home kit you send away foe.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 26/07/2021 13:28

Tell them to isolate. Get a proper PCR test, and yes, if it's positive, their isolation will be 10 days from contact on Friday.

dazzlerdo · 26/07/2021 13:54

Yes it was a lateral flow test I used.
I forgot all about booking a pcr test as well. Thanks for that I'll get that done now

Yes book a PCR and they will sort out who she’s been in contact with
