DC developed a sore throat and slight temp on Fri night. I took him for a PcR first thing Saturday (yesterday). Still no result, throat still a bit sore and still slight temp that goes down with calPol. He last saw friends on Thurs... I've warned all their parents. If it comes back positive, will I be asked to list all their names as close contacts? Will they then all be asked to isolate and for how long?

Yes you will as it’s within the 48 hours before his symptoms started.
They’ll need to isolate for 10 days from when they saw him, so until next Sunday.

ColettesEarrings · 25/07/2021 10:11

If you give their information yes, they'll be asked to isolate for ten days from date of last contact. So Thurs is contact day 0, Fri is day 1, Sun 1st Aug is day 10, they'll be free to go out on Mon 2nd.

Thank you.

...if this was after 19 aug though... would they still have to isolate as kids or just do daily LF tests to check?

They're all 8/9, by the way and we live in England.

No idea on the lf they change guidelines constantly. But if they were close contacts they need to isolate

ColettesEarrings · 25/07/2021 10:32

Guidance hadn't changed constantly at all. After 16th Aug double jabbed over 18s and all under 18s will not have to isolate as contacts. Taking one pcr is recommended but not compulsory.
