Bringing second vax forward. How?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I gather the government are suggesting young people should bring their second jab forward, from 12 weeks to eight weeks.

How? When DS booked he could only select a 12 weeks hence appointment for his second jab.

If he logs on now, will that have changed?

FTR there's all but no 'drop in' available anywhere near here (Southampton).

You're over complicating it.

Log on. Click cancel. Then it tells you to check availability, when I did it last week it showed me all available sites within 5 miles and i could even change that. Then I rebooked. Done

I didn't get an email confirmation or text for my booking. I rang 119 after 8 weeks they looked up using name and address and they cancelled the 12week appointment and booked me in for 2 days later.

The website has changed and you can now view the availability of appointments prior to cancelling the booked one. Just log on and have a look. Failing that he could go to a drop in clinic and have the second dose from 8 weeks onwards.

Out of interest, what makes you say there is no walk-in availability in your area? Using the NHS checker there seems to be ample supplies of AZ and Pfizer in Southampton (SO16 and SO40 are the first two results, not that I’m familiar with the area). Moderna less so, although I have not checked that rigorously - are you after Moderna?

i've just done exactly this
It shows you what is available before you cancel
Brought forward from 12 to 8 weeks. easy.

Otherwise lots of walk in opportunities
