Wohooo! Absolutely buzzing that I've had my second jab this morning so now I have had both jabs! ♥️ I remember in January feeling like it'd never be my turn but finally the time has been and gone and I feel so grateful :)
Pointless thread I know, but just happy :)

I felt the same at the start of the year, kept checking the Omni calculator and thinking it would never be my turn. Had my second last Wednesday!

skyvv90 · 24/07/2021 10:48

I had my second today as well. I'm glad it's all done especially as I hate needles. As soon as people started talking about vaccines early last year I was starting to dread it and they weren't even anywhere near ready lol

Abraxan · 24/07/2021 10:56

I was surprised at how emotional I felt after completing my two vaccines. It felt like making a real positive step forward in the pandemic, especially after such a rubbish year or more. After being ill abd in hospital with Covid, dealing with three family deaths under awful restrictions and so many disappointments over the previous months it felt like a shining light ahead.

I know they weren't/aren't the only solution in their own but such a massive step forward and such a huge thing for everyone to have worked together, focused science and funding into it and proved what people can do when the normal barriers are lifted.

Me and Dh are both fully vaccinated and 19y Dd is two weeks post her final jab as of today too. We are ready to go in.

Fingers crossed the next steps go okay.

Wowow that’s amazing OP. I am optimistic that we are at the beginning of the end now. And by that I don’t mean Covid is going away. I mean that the numbers look as if they are turning and the population is building a level of immunity - natural and vaccines.

dementedpixie · 24/07/2021 11:07

I am now 2 weeks post 2nd vaccine so now count as fully vaccinated.

starfish4 · 24/07/2021 11:07

Welcome to the club, it's a great feeling.

TheVampiresWife · 24/07/2021 11:09

I felt the same after both of mine. Had a little cry after the first back in February! The difference just a few months makes - last summer we were being cautioned that there may never be an effective vaccine, and now there was I, effectively vaccinated.

Ain't science brill Grin

TheVampiresWife · 24/07/2021 11:10

We are ready to go in

This is the best feeling, isn't it?!

BluebellsGreenbells · 24/07/2021 11:11

I didn’t feel ‘it’ until the plus two weeks felt we needed a celebration!

november90 · 24/07/2021 12:28

So is it a 2 week window with pfizer?
Aww so glad you all felt the joy too!
I did get emotional with my first I must admit. It was at our local football stadium and all the staff were so enthusiastic.... it was a bit like the end of titanic when rose walks up to jack at the clock and every looked so happy 😂😂😂😂
Today was at the loca church which was much smaller scale but equally exciting :)

Congratulations! I have my second booked for tomorrow and am almost counting down the hours...it has taken soooo long for people in my age group where I live. With the 2 weeks after to achieve full effectiveness I will only just be fully sorted before going back in to the office. It has been an eye opener that my employer really could not give a shit about giving younger staff a few more weeks time to be fully vaxed before ending WFH...

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/07/2021 13:33

Congrats! My second is in 3 weeks. Smile

nordica · 24/07/2021 13:36

I'm two weeks post second jab as of today as well - feel quite a bit safer now knowing the vaccine is protecting me. Smile

allthestripeys · 24/07/2021 13:38

Ok Hmm

Blondiney · 24/07/2021 13:39

I'm sitting outside my GP surgery right now waiting to go in and have my second shot. I do not want this.

Blondiney · 24/07/2021 14:54

I did it, very nearly didn't. When does the elation kick in? Hmm

Balloonrace · 24/07/2021 15:26

Well done. At least that moment of anxiety is over, and your brain will gradually move on to thinking about other things.

Crazysheep · 24/07/2021 15:29

I also feel very lucky to have had my second vaccine. Had mine Wed. Still feel a little lousy from it but celebrate when I can keep my eyes open longer than 10 mins.

Blondiney · 24/07/2021 16:05

Thanks, think that's the best I can hope for. Smile

No way will I be doing a booster though!

Cornettoninja · 24/07/2021 16:07

Congratulations @november90; it’s lovely that you feel uplifted by it, enjoy the feeling Smile

rainbowunicorn · 24/07/2021 16:23

@allthestripeys

Ok Hmm
Why the need to be a dick. If it isn't of interest to you don't bother reading. the OP is obviously excited and happy to have had both vaccinations so why do you feel the need to reply in that manner.

@november90 it is a great feeling to know that you have some protection. Fingers crossed we never have to repeat the last 18 months.

Firstworddinosaur · 24/07/2021 17:00

Good work OP. I felt an enormous relief getting my second. Big up medical science and all those kind volunteers at the vaccine centre!
