8 days isolation

anybody else been told to self isolate for 8 days, i thought it was 10? So confused and have no idea who the close contact is!

It’s 10 days from contact so that means the contact would have been 2 or possibly 3 days ago as I think contact day doesn’t count as part of the 10 days.

It's 10 days from when you had contact with the positive case so it must have been 2 days ago.

You have to isolate 10 days from last contact. So often it's less than 10 days. I've heard that for some people they have to isolate for only 4-5 days. For instance my son had to isolate recently. His last contact with the positive person was on a Friday. They got symptoms on the Sunday and got a positive test Monday evening and didn't know until Tuesday so had to isolate for a week.

Did your son get covid? Im a bit scared as im in my forties with possible underlying health problem and only one vaccination, was due to get second on the 28th.

I've been pinged today and I only have to isolate for 4 days.
