PCR wait times

Has anyone had a particularly long wait for a PCR result recently?

Tests previously have all been back in under 24 hours. I'm now on hour 36 and still waiting to hear.

Work are getting a bit tetchy as I'm due on call this weekend and they obviously want to know if they need to cover or not.

Ours was posted Weds and we got notification at midnight last night - so probably around 36 hours, depending on when for post was collected.

My daughter had one Wednesday, back within 24 hours and I've got another friend who's son was tested yesterday and back by today - both negative.

My sister and bro-in-law have also had them this week. Both waited 72 hours and both were positive.

Oh no... we had one at 10.30am Tues and results just after Midnight into the Weds (so 14 hours)

We’re still waiting too OP. Guessing it’s because the labs are flat out with tests this week.

It seems to depend on where you live. Ours have always been back within 24h, including one this week

I agree with above who said depends where you live.
My son had his done at 9am yesterday and we had his positive result in at midnight

5 days and counting for 2 of 3, 1 came back within 24hours. Have chased it up and they sent someone else’s results and resent the one that did come back- again! We’re isolating anyway as LfT all said positive.

Test at 1100 yesterday, +ve result at 0700 this morning

Test was done at 8am yesterday morning in a regional test centre.
It has been busier but I suppose they are dealing with the trials of self isolation too.

Work want me to chase it up with 119 but the website says wait for 6 days.... by which time our isolation would nearly be up anyway so pointless.
