Vaccinated staff & isolation

DP owns a small business with around 7 staff.

He and I are both fully vaccinated and all his staff have had one dose thus far.

My question is, once all 7 staff have received their 2nd dose, will business he open as usual even if one is asked to isolate due to close contact with a positive case?

I know as of a few weeks time fully vaccinated individuals don’t need to isolate if they’ve been in contact with a positive person, so presumably if all staff are double vaccinated then the business can continue to operate as normal?

Or more to the point - if a customer turns out to have covid - will business continue as normal?

Well yes, until one of them spreads Covid around the rest of the 7 workers and you have to close.

People will still be identified as close contacts and will be told to get a PCR test. I think if that’s negative and they have no symptoms, they will be able to come back to work if double jabbed.

From 16 August, if all are fully vaccinated, then they only isolate if they have Covid.

Until then they have to isolate if in close contact. How many will need to isolate if a team member caught it depends on how your business works and if they work with close contact for any length of time.

And obviously there is always the chance they could catch it and spread it to one another. Whilst the risk of catching and transmitting Covid is reduced by the vaccine it isn't eliminated.

I would suggest your DP gets his business advice from official sources rather than rely on what Mumsnetters think should happen.
