If it was for mental health related reasons?

Ring 111 and ask where most appropriate place is. Does the person have covid or have they been a contact?

Overthebow · 21/07/2021 21:07

yes of course! you can go even if you have covid, you just have to let them know so they can have the correct PPE and area of the hospital.

Thedays76 · 21/07/2021 21:07

Contact not positive

It's it an emergency?

MrsSkylerWhite · 21/07/2021 21:08

That’s a really good question. Will follow replies with interest.

Seesawmummadaw · 21/07/2021 21:09

Yes. Everyone is treated as positive until tests show that they aren’t (in ours at least).

Catipepo · 21/07/2021 21:11

Yes, if you need to use their emergency services

Is there a crisis line or anything you can call? I know some trusts were offering alternative support options so that people didn't have to go to A&E and risk catching covid

Hope all is okay

PuzzledObserver · 21/07/2021 21:11

Even if you have Covid, you are allowed to leave home to seek medical treatment. When we had Covid, 111 told me to drive DH to A&E when he needed checking, as long as I felt well enough to do so.

NuttyinNotts · 21/07/2021 21:12

Have you tried your local crisis line first? Obviously anyone who needs A+E can go and they have provision for covid, but it's seldom the best place for a mental health crisis.

XenoBitch · 21/07/2021 21:40

If you feel you can get the help you need at A&E then having Covid doesn't not matter. They wont turn you away, and going there is totally allowed.
Sorry that you feel you need A&E at the moment. I hope they can help you Flowers

Largethighsbadeyes · 21/07/2021 21:59

Isolating if you have covid = you can still attend A and E

Isolating as a contact = you can still attend A and E

Pootle40 · 21/07/2021 22:01

Yes a potentially life or death situation trumps isolation for Covid !

Realitea · 22/07/2021 07:51

In my hospital they have a red zone and green zone. If you’re isolating or have covid symptoms you go to red, if you’re all clear you go to green

HelloMissus · 22/07/2021 08:01

Absolutely yes you can.

tubbycustardtummyache · 22/07/2021 08:07

We assume everyone has covid in A&E so I wouldn’t worry if you feel you need help
Masks mandatory for all staff and patients

Northernlurker · 22/07/2021 08:07

Yes you can and I have a friend who had to do this. Just mention it when you get there.

WillowGrand · 22/07/2021 08:10

Yes I’ve taken isolating DD when I had no option. They just put you in a private room.

TheGenealogist · 22/07/2021 08:12

If you're ill enough to need A&E then you absolutely must go. Covid isn't the only thing which matters.

TheVampiresWife · 22/07/2021 08:25

Of course. Please don't delay getting any help you need Because Covid.

Hope you're ok Flowers
