Are there any advantages/disadvantages to having the 2nd Pfizzer vaccination at 8 weeks as opposed to 12 weeks? I am due the second one at the end of August and am late 50's .Thankyou.

I'm in the same position so will be watching this thread with interest.
From googling I haven't found much on effectiveness at 8 v 12 weeks so have decided to bring mine forwards, assuming all else is more or less equal having it sooner is an advantage.

It's 3-4 weeks everywhere else. Unlike AZ, there is no data to suggest delaying it is better. I have come across one paper online that has not yet been peer reviewed that makes a claim that a gap longer than three weeks is better but in my opinion (and I do understand stats), there are flaws in their conclusions as they are not controlling for all variables.

I would definitely get it early. The only reason the 2nd was pushed out to 12 weeks was to get the first dose into as many arms as possible.

They only made it 12 weeks to try and get as many people one dose as they could. If you can get it sooner I would as cases are going up.

I don't think now is the time to delay.

Thankyou all for responding. I appreciate it. Country. Are you any clearer about your decision?

All 4 in our house have/having 2nd vaccines at 8 weeks. Only me AZ, but husband had his at 8 weeks and my two adults sons are having their 2nd Pfizer vaccines early August also at 8 weeks.

I'm 38 and I moved mine up on the basis that my new second jab date was a couple of weeks before "freedom Day". I figured that it would be better to have the chance to build up immunity before all restrictions were lifted. In your position I'd be looking to move to as soon as I could.
