10 days ago I was pinged by the covid app to isolate as I was supposedly in contact with someone who tested positive for Corona. Like a good person I stayed at home. Did a lateral test every day. I even did a PCR test. All negative. This ended on Monday evening.
This morning I again received a message to isolate for 10 days as I'm again been in contact with someone.
BUT and it's a big but I've not been out apart from being in the garden. How can I have been in contact if I've not been anywhere. Even yesterday I didn't go out.

Isn’t it no longer a legal requirement for adults to isolate after being pinged?
MaxNormal · 21/07/2021 09:01

sn’t it no longer a legal requirement for adults to isolate after being pinged?

It never was. It's only a legal requirement if you are contacted by track and trace.

Arsebucket · 21/07/2021 09:02

I deleted the app after getting told to self isolate when I hadn’t been out the front door in two weeks (i’m very lazy and it was cold Blush).

I’d not even set foot out of the door. I’d been in the garden pottering about in the greenhouse. So unless an infected gnome had wandered past, I figured it was a load of crap.

Oysterbabe · 21/07/2021 09:02

Just ignore it. I've turned contact tracing off.

ApolloandDaphne · 21/07/2021 09:03

Just ignore it. Unless you are contacted directly there is no legal requirement to isolate following a ping from the app.

squid12346 · 21/07/2021 09:04

Definitely a reason to ignore the ping! You were isolating so no chance you've been in contact with anyone!

megletthesecond · 21/07/2021 09:04

Is it picking up your neighbours phones?
I never got the app because we're quite closely packed and I could see my neighbours bluetooth gadgets.. (Never go to restaurants etc either).

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 21/07/2021 09:04

Maybe a neighbour was in the garden at the same time as you but, as others have said you don't have to isolate so don't do it

rishisboater · 21/07/2021 09:14

It'll be neighbors. Definitely ignore!

It's the gnomes, I knew it. Shock
FlowerArranger · 21/07/2021 09:20

It's always the gnomes!!

Unless it was the butler...

Daisymae15 · 21/07/2021 09:24

Oh no we have 15 gnomes how do I tell which one it is. Or is it the Owl light.
All bought by our DGC.

Streamingbannersofdawn · 21/07/2021 09:24

This is the perfect example of why the app is completely unfit for purpose...delete it.

GoldenOmber · 21/07/2021 09:27

The infected gnome has probably been in contact with the other gnomes, therefore all the gnomes need to self-isolate now.

Topseyt · 21/07/2021 09:30

It was never a legal obligation to isolate following a ping from the crap app, only if you are actually called by test and trace. It isn't even a legal obligation to have the crap app in the first place.

Ignore it. A fair number of us have now deleted the bugger.

hellcatspangle · 21/07/2021 09:32

Bloody hell - how many threads have there been on here the last few weeks about this, I can't believe anyone still has the app! If you choose to keep the app you may as well resign yourself to isolating until Christmas unless you become a recluse.

BarberQueue · 21/07/2021 09:41

If you haven't been out anywhere then ignore it and turn off the tracking.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 21/07/2021 09:57

It would be a lot more useful if the app told you where and when you had apparently been in Contact so you could make an informed decision.

WeHaveComeSoFar · 21/07/2021 10:01

Just ignore it

Rainbowsandstorms · 21/07/2021 10:03

My assumption would be that a neighbour has tested positive and your phone has connected with theirs through the wall or the fence. If you’ve been at home you definitely don’t need to isolate. Like someone else said I wish it would give the time and location of contact so people could make informed decisions.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 21/07/2021 10:04

It does tell you when
FoolsAssassin · 21/07/2021 10:04

I’m sorry for your situation amd would also ignore it. The infected gnomes have really cheered me up 😀
