Every symptom and negative pcr

Has anyone else had this recently? Ds has temp, cough and loss of smell and taste. Lfts before symptoms are negative. Pcr results just back are negative. He also had sore throat, runny nose, diarrhea and stomach pain. Was absolutely convinced it was covid. School has kids isolating with covid, and others in ds position who seem to have the symptoms but showing negative. The pcr and lfts can't all be wrong can they?

Had almost exactly this with DD this weekend, minus the loss of smell and taste. We were absolutely convinced that’s what it would be, but the PCR said no. There are a lot of other things doing the rounds at the moment, but her school are sending kids home with any illness whatsoever so even if she’s well enough to go tomorrow I’d need to have a PCR result to prove it’s not Covid.
