Sick pay whilst isolating

6 replies

Whathefisgoingon · 19/07/2021 12:51

Pinged by the app and asked to isolate for six days.

Work are happy for me to go in regardless but obviously I don’t feel comfortable with it. I can work from home but they don’t allow it.

Does that mean this will be unpaid, or do I get SSP?

You should be able to get SSP

Dee1975 · 19/07/2021 13:44

You can get SSP from day 1. Anything extra would be as per company policy. But as a min they MUST pay you ssp.

Have you checked where/when the exposure was? You could be isolating for nothing!

Whathefisgoingon · 19/07/2021 13:46

@iwilldoitsoon how do I check?

Erm, I'm not sure - it's in the setting somewhere. Someone who has it will hopefully be able to tell you soon.

@iwilldoitsoon I just checked. On that day I literally went inside an empty pub for less than 2 mins to check in, got told it was table service so sat outside away from everyone (front of the pub on a bench, not their garden)

Aside from that I was at work, in an unventilated cramped office with 60 people - but I’ve been told nobody tested positive last week so “it can’t be here”
