Close contact - positive lateral flow only

One of my children has been in close contact with someone who had a positive lateral flow test so she began isolating , it will be a week tomorrow and no update on their pcr - and I know pcr tests are not taking that long to come back.

Has anyone been in this situation where they are isolating due to only the lateral flow results of someone else ?

Bit frustrating as would have liked it confirmed.

Were you told you'd get an update? I'd have only expected an update if the situation changed i.e. the PCR was negative.

But it's possible the result isn't back (I've seen comments on here saying they waited 5+ days for results), or that the test was lost, or that the child wasn't able to do a test...
