Second vaccine before 8 weeks?

I’ve had my first one (Pfizer) 5 weeks ago and keen to get the 2nd one as soon as possible. It seems like the guidelines are now saying 8 weeks and not able to book before that. Has anyone gotten their 2nd vaccine in less than 8 weeks? If so, how?

I heard on the radio today that lots of places are doing pop up jab sites this weekend and would vaccinate people before the 8 week mark. Lots of areas are doing this already, but I think it depends where you are. Not entirely helpful, I know - but I think the answer is: maybe! Depends where you are and who you try and get it from.

It seems to be better for long term immunity to leave at least 8 weeks between the doses. 8 weeks is the official UK dosing interval and most walk in clinics are sticking to that. You might have some luck going later in the day if they have spare doses.

Where I live they are sticking to the 8 week rule. Both my 2 adult DS have brought forward their second jabs to 8 weeks. I do wonder if it’s a supply issue as well.

Our local clinic is offering drop ins for people who had their first vaccine three weeks ago. My teenager had theirs yesterday no issues no fuss.

Hello if your in london you can easily get your second phizer after 3 weeks. You just need to be over 21 days some clinics accept day 21 itself.

Google reddit threads ‘getjabbed’ they will give you a list of walk in no booking clinics. I got mine on day 22 post first phizer.

It's not a supply issue, they have huge stockpiles now which they didn't have a month ago.
It's true you can't book online under 8 weeks but you can try your luck at a walk in. They are everywhere this weekend.
One of my DC who is a teacher kept trying until they got one at 5 weeks.

It's likely there is greater immunity from waiting 8 weeks. On the other hand the liklihood of catching covid is so high atm it seems prudent. Besides most countries are doing 2nd doses at 3 weeks.

You can't book before 8 weeks, but depending on where you live, you might be able to find a walk in prepared to jab you.

It's mostly word of mouth, because as soon as too many people are vaccinated 'early', the centralised NHS people put a stop to it.

I want to take the second Vaccine however its only been 7 weeks, but I'm leaving the country can anyone tell me where I can get it done

Cookerhood · 24/07/2021 11:49

Our local walk in vaccinates everyone over 3 weeks.

onthinice · 24/07/2021 12:00

Yes I got mine after 7 weeks. My gp surgery texted me to say book my next Jab, and I happened to be near by a walk in centre so I went straight there, showed them my text and they did it for me. Initially they were going to refuse but once I showed them my text they did it without a problem.

One of my friends went to a walk in center in Angel, London and got hers about 4 weeks after her first.
