Getting letter to prove had covid - child

Hello,
Due to be going on a UK staycation cruise in two weeks but DS3 tested positive for C19 this week. Cruise company insist on negative test 2 days before boarding and at embarkation. Told that likelihood is that he’ll test positive beyond for up to 90 days but was told by PHE that we could get a letter to prove he’s had the virus and should be able then to go on the holiday. Cannot fathom out how to do this on any NHS app, anyone have a clue please? Thanks

I may be wrong but I thought it was part of the “covid status” confirmation in the NHS app (not the NHS covid app). There’s an option called “get your NHS covid pass”.

Thank you, but have to be at least 16 and he’s only 14 😭😩

Oh no. Hopefully someone else will know how. I did get a letter for my dad of his covid status as he doesn’t have the app. Think I had to fill something in online and then it came in the post. I’ll see if I can find out how I did it.

Ah, I see that the over 16 thing is for the pass itself, not the pass on the app. The FAQs I saw to get my dad’s pass said call 119 to arrange but that it’s over 16s only. Might be worth ringing 119 to see if there is another way.

I’ll try, thank you, I’ve got a code from Public Health England to prove his status do might be the only way to ring them, never easy…

Is there any correspondence relating to booking the test in his name and the corresponding results message? As a last resort

dementedpixie · 17/07/2021 14:33

Can you not show proof of his positive test result

hollypocks · 17/07/2021 14:36

I’ve got the text message and email of his results, just very nervous cruise company won’t accept and impossible to contact them, on to 119

So in case anyone else is ever in this situation they’ll tell you to rely only on email, letter does not exist for under 16’s. trying to see if cruise company will accept, GP as last resort…
