If you had your 2nd jab a few months ago, have you had covid recently?

Due to my job I was vaccinated early on and had my 2nd dose in March. In recent weeks I have been very exposed to covid and I keep testing negative. This exposure is at home so no PPE worn.
I'm just wondering if the vaccine seems more effective the longer you've had it.
I keep seeing comments about people catching covid even though they're double jabbed but have they been done more recently?
I can't work out whether the vaccine is working well or I'm just waiting to test positive!

Possibly not what you’ll want to hear but my best friend was double jabbed earlier on due to work (nhs) she’s just recovered positive for covid for the 3rd time (1st time after both vaccinations). However she did say she didn’t feel as ill this time and thinks she’s avoided catching it previously after her jabs (pre delta)

Tbh It seems to just be luck. One friend who’s a teacher (double jabbed but more recently) has caught it after 1 jab and then last week after she’s been double jabbed a few weeks … my ex DP has been in close contact a few times and not caught it once. He’s vaccinated once
