Vomiting and nausea

So I made a previous thread about my dd testing positive and I was trying to avoid catching it as we're are in the same household.
Since yesterday I had developed a fever, chills etc and feel awful but today I have sickness and nausea.
It's like the worst hangover and ever sip of fluid I take I'm bringing it back up.
I'm waiting for my PCR results but has anyone else had sickness with covid and how did you treat it?

My MIL had awful sickness when she contracted Covid. The only thing she could really eat were crackers, banana, oranges and drink water with lemon in it. Hope you feel better soon OP xx

I saw today that norovirus is making its rounds so it maybe this.

SlB09 · 16/07/2021 22:49

Yes nausea vomiting and diarrhea are now well documented symptoms of covid, particularly delta variant.

Suranjeep · 16/07/2021 22:53

Norovirus. Guardian getting in a panic over this doing the rounds at the moment

misssunshine4040 · 16/07/2021 23:53

I saw the norovirus articles this evening, I've no diarrhoea.
My DD definitely has covid and we have the same symptoms except I have sickness.
Managed a big of toast and some paracetamol tonight so hopefully it stays down and tomorrow is a bit better

I do wonder how many cases are actually Covid.

I hope you all feel better soon OP Flowers

I had this at the start of the week.
Sickness and temperature.
Had a negative PCR so must’ve been a tummy bug.

Hope you’re feeling better soon and hope your test comes back negative!

My ten year old - positive pcr today - has been like this. Literally cannot keep a thing down, even water. Started with body aches and extreme tiredness on Wednesday night, vomiting started yesterday.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 17/07/2021 00:28

My colleague just has Covid - ten days of puking. He lost 10 pounds.

Choconuttolata · 17/07/2021 00:39

I had abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting with Covid as did DH. Mine passed in a few days. Just manage as normal with fluids water, light squash/watery juice or rehydration solution if bad. Reduce food intake to plain, dry items if tolerated at first. If vomiting persistent then aim for a few sips of fluid every 10 minutes. Little and often will get more fluids in without it all coming back out again.

Aw what a shame, hate the kids getting it. Hope she's better soon

Thanks that's good advice, glad you're both better now.

TTC0405 · 08/09/2021 18:49

I've had covid for 8 days and been sick for 7 of these with no signs of it letting up 🤒😭😭

Jellifer · 08/09/2021 18:58

I had Covid in March last year and had nausea & vomiting with it. Dr recommended that I get tablets over the counter called Buccastem and it really helped.

Hope you feel better soon.

Bobholll · 08/09/2021 19:50

Buccastem is really good anti-sickness. I use it for sickness with migraine and it really works. It’s over the counter, so anyone can pick it up for you!

TTC0405 · 08/09/2021 20:03

My brother got me them but I didn't think they helped much the other day and I was still sick that night. I'll try them again 🤞 thanks so much folks.

Nowhereelsetogo90 · 12/09/2021 09:01

I was very sick the first night after positive PCR - phoned 111 and my brother was able to collect anti sickness medication and drop it off on doorstep. I’d ask GP and 111 for help if needed.
