self-isolation enforcement in Germany

Does anyone know how strictly self-isolation is enforced in Germany (Berlin)?

At the moment, all unvaccinated people have to self-isolate upon arrival from the UK, but have the option to be set free by a negative test on day 5.

Anyone heard / experienced the authorities actually checking whether you are self-isolating during those 5 days?? Halo

Yes, they will.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 16/07/2021 17:29

Sounds like you want to avoid it...

It is there for a purpose, you know.

0None0 · 16/07/2021 17:30

Absolutely! The Germans are incredibly efficient at this. We could learn a lot from them

DirtyBlonde · 16/07/2021 17:31

Yes, very diligent about it too

GreyhoundG1rl · 16/07/2021 17:34

Stop with the silly little Halo's, op. You need to bloody isolate.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 16/07/2021 17:55

Yes, they check on you. You can expect the local Gesundheitsamt to be in touch at regular intervals.

Generally speaking, breaking the rules is frowned on and considered anti-social rather than "clever". Mask wearing is also the norm (and mainly still the law) and the police will stop you and fine you for rule breaking. Two of my daughter's class mates have recently each been fined EUR 150 each for being part of too large a group sitting by the river.

Also masks need to be FFP2.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/07/2021 18:29

Stick to the rules please - it is not seen as a 'Kavaliersdelikt' and won't endear you to your neighbours.

whittingtonmum · 16/07/2021 18:35

In Germany I would expect quite strict enforcement and also neighbours reporting you to the authorities if they see you leaving the house during your self isolation period.

MartyHart · 16/07/2021 18:38

Yes they do enforce it

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/07/2021 18:39

@whittingtonmum - Would you now?

MRex · 16/07/2021 18:46

It's only 5 days, don't be a dick about it and just stay in.

Grellbunt · 16/07/2021 18:47

Yep
You gotta do it
Just be glad it isn't 14 days any more
