Hi so bit strange , all parents sent a email from head teacher. It says she thinks its a strange hoax, but they received a letter from someone that left no name or contact number but this person is claiming to have been in contact with the whole school apart from one class. The head has said as she believes its a hoax the last week will still be going ahead but she understands different family circumstances and if you don't feel safe not to attend. She also asked if the letter is really for the person to come forward. She also said she can't see how this would have been able to happen as they keep to the bubbles. Now my question do you think the teacher will close school at the last min ? My son is very excited so I don't want to spring it on him if there is a small possibility I would rather tell him in advance . Has anyone been in this situation ? What happened

Sounds like somebody deliberately trying to get the school closed a week early! The HT won't be able to do anything about it though with no proof.

What?!?

Smartiepants79 · 16/07/2021 14:59

That’s not how close contact/track and trace/isolation works!!
I’m very surprised she even bothered to share this with parents with no more info?
She can’t shut an entire school on the say so of an anonymous email!!
How very weird.

Unless it's a tiny school, surely the only adults able to be near enough that many kids would be school staff?

Or do alot of kids from the school go to one after school activity?

I can't imagine many people come in close contact with that many kids of different ages.

Or its a child trying to get the whole school closed apart from the siblings class.

Yea its a small school not many kids at all its a village one. I went to pick up my child I always get there 15 mind early. But today they were waiting by the gates with the teacher. I think they are having a meeting. Its stressful not knowing i do think its someone messing about. But I'm thinking will they be allowed to go ahead with the last week if they don't no

Very unprofessional of the head. She should have taken advice from track and trace rather than scaring all the parents on the back of an anonymous letter than even she believes is a hoax.
