To just be so sick of it and friend says she's giving my name to test and trace

We walked together outside for about 10 minutes on Monday, when I bumped into her. We were not side by side as kids were with us. Then went separate ways, but she says I will of picked up Covid as she's suddenly tested positive Hmm and she's giving my number to test and trace.

I just think it's all ridiculous, and she's fine btw just got a dry throat. Why even get a test and have to isolate for 10 days for a dry throat? What is the point ? All loads of healthy jabbed people at home isolating incase they get a dry throat.

@Winceybincey

Hubby and I tested positive on a PCR over a week ago (quite poorly with it too) and T&T have not contacted us. I didn’t think they were still tracing to be honest. We’ve told our close contacts ourselves. Some have gone on to test positive themselves and others haven’t. But not once have we heard from test and trace.
Did you not get the link to put contacts in that gamerchick mentioned?
Imnothereforthedrama · 16/07/2021 17:50

Your not classed as a close contact so even if she does ignore . They won’t ring you may just get a ping but when test and trace ask they will tell her what close contact is and I doubt you’ve be at risk.
She has tested positive though so doesn’t matter that she only has a dry throat or not tomorrow she may feel worse she’s still positive and needs to isolate.

AnotherDayAnotherCake · 16/07/2021 17:54

Yeah T&T won’t contact you based on that contact.

Chloemol · 16/07/2021 17:59

To all of you saying ignore T and T, having arrangements not to tell etc no wonder we are in the mess we are with covid

Thanks for continuing to share it

You in a steady job then? For many, self isolating for a dubious contact would mean you lose clients, money and the very roof over your head being in danger of getting taken away.

@AnotherDayAnotherCake

Yeah T&T won’t contact you based on that contact.
As I understand it the friend is going to lie, T and T presumably have to take close contact info at face value. I don't know what else they can do
Hellcatspangle · 16/07/2021 18:25

If T&T do ring you, surely they will check with you when you saw her, how long for etc, they can't just take her word for it.

christyt114 · 16/07/2021 18:26

You're not classed as a contact. See the attached from the gov website.

If test and trace contact you, just put them straight. This is what happened to my DH who's details were passed to T&T by a customer who'd been more than 2m for about 5mins. T&T okey dokey and that was it.

I thought, only based on what people have said on MN, that T&T don’t tell you who has tested positive and where your contact was. So you can’t actually dispute the information because they don’t share it.

"Friend" has almost been desperate to catch Covid and is super obsessed with the following the rules. The list doesn't seem to differentiate between being indoors or outdoors. Surely outside it would be much harder to catch it? But that list saying 1 minute contact at 1 meter, I don't think I was at all close to her, but I can't really remember because their were kids everywhere, I'm sure she was walking infront of me, rather than next to. Doesn't make you want to chat to anyone.

I am self employed and so not sick pay for me, so I don't want to isolate for no reason. I generally
