Conundrum - returned from amber list Tuesday

So i of course am home and have sent off my day 2 test
However from Monday, I’m free ! As twice vaccinated and laws change at 4am

But I’m scared that the bloody 0300 number will keep calling me and fine me

As they didn’t seem to be aware of the law change
Maybe because falling from a call Center in red list India !!!!!

My understanding is the rules change for arrivals after 05:00am on 19 July and it doesn’t apply retrospectively.

Don't you still have to isolate?

The rule changes are not retrospectively applied. As Simon Calder said, it’s like mastermind. You’ve started so you must finish.

You have to continue to isolate. The changes only apply to those arriving back on or after 19th.

Seems strange that I am riskier (with 2 negative PCR under my belt ) than someone exactly the same as me without a PCR

If you returned from an amber list place on Tuesday you have to isolate for 10 days and do day 2 and day 8 test. Unless you do the 5 day test to release thing (but I think if you do that you still have to do the day 8 one)

I know that I just thought I’d be off the hook with the rule change
