Haven Holidays

We are booked with Haven for the week, and have started to receive emails about booking, check in etc.

As part of the process and to be able to access their booking apps etc you have to download the bloody test and trace app.

Sounds like a recipe for chaos if one person on park goes down is it going to be pinging everyone on site? What happens if it pings you while you are there, do you have to self isolate in your caravan for the full amount of time, potentially then cancelling other people's holidays?

Can they enforce it that you have it on?

I deleted it months ago and really dont want to have to have it!

You say sorry. I don't have a smart phone

idontlikealdi · 16/07/2021 10:08

But then you're stuffed because you can't book anything and you need their bloody app to order food and drink.

I think we will just forgo using any of their facilities and eat off site / at the van. The kids like the shitty entertainment though.

Just have the app and turn of Bluetooth.

Ickiness · 16/07/2021 10:10

I didn’t download it
Just checked in with the staff at restaurants etc

Sunshinegirl82 · 16/07/2021 10:13

Download the app, go to "manage contact tracing" and turn it off. Should be fine then!

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/07/2021 10:14

Yeah I didn't download it either. I have the haven app and the haven serve one. They have QR codes anyway and you book using your name. We just got back last week. If you want to pay cash in live lounge they just open a tab and take caravan key till you pay it

userperuser · 16/07/2021 10:21

Just back from Haven, they don’t even ask for it.

GalacticDragonfly · 16/07/2021 10:23

Checking in to a venue doesn’t result in being asked to isolate. At most, you’ll get a message telling you to be aware that someone else who checked in to the same venue on the same day has tested positive and you may wish to book a test.

I'm going to a Haven park next week. I won't be eating in the restaurants, using the pool or using any of the other facilities so surely I won't need the app? I booked through Airbnb and only want the caravan as somewhere to sleep!

Visited Haven last September and last month. No covid related issues 😊 I choose not to use their pools or entertainment in September even though I'd paid for it as I find booking times really restrictive. Hubby rubbish at timekeeping. Prefer to eat in caravan or local cafes or restaurants to support local businesses (near the Haven sites) plus Haven restaurants are over priced, basic pub grub.
