@olivethegreat
Got back earlier from mini Tesco's which is a stop for builders getting lunch and not one of the 20 somethings amongst them was wearing a mask. Older guys were .
Not sure I see the point if the people wearing them are going to be the middle aged and older folk who are all double jabbed and less likely to be night clubbing!
But @olivethegreat older people who have been double vaccinated are still catching it because the delta variant is more transmissible than previous variants . And in some cases they are likely to become quite poorly . And I don't know what you mean by 'older', but for people in their 50s/60s not only are they more vulnerable themselves than a 20+ something , but very often they will have parents or other elderly relatives that they visit in their 80s who are very vulnerable. Hence they still wear masks to keep themselves and others safe.
I do think that places where people have no choice but to go to such as the supermarket, any health appointments and public transport should keep masks, at least in the short term while cases are so high .
That way people who are either vulnerable or anxious are able to safely manage the necessities and entertainment etc can open up for those that want it.
