Antibody Test Invite

So I got this text message asking me to do an antibody test (how exciting) However when I go through the website to order the test once I get to the end it asks me to confirm if it’s a PCR test I want, which it isn’t it’s the antibody test. Anyone had one of these before and got any ideas? Don’t want to order a PCR when I don’t need one but do want to do this antibody test.

Scam?

I would ignore the link and see if you can get to it using the official gov.uk homepage.

ColettesEarrings · 15/07/2021 15:26

Reeks of scamming!

WhatHaveIFound · 15/07/2021 15:35

It looks identical to the one I got but mine came up on my iPhone as being from UK_Gov rather than just as text message.

Danniotley · 15/07/2021 15:50

Exactly the same as the one I got today. It did keep mentioning PCR but it has ordered me an antibody test.

DorothyCotton · 15/07/2021 16:01

I just had a look on .Gov to see if I can order one. There is a study running and you can apply for a test but only currently if you travel to your place of work and work in three of chosen professions.

I'm retail, so can't order currently, although it looks as if they'll roll it out down the list perhaps?

@RocioMartinez it’s deffo a gov one same one and does take me to the gov website but then says it’s for a PCR.
@Danniotley How do you know it ordered you an antibody one? Did it say somewhere?

I don’t just want to order it and try incase they send me a PCR. It’s expected you isolate while waiting for a PCR right and I don’t want to do that. I would like to know if I have antibodies though. 🧐

Yes. Got a text immediately afterwards to confirm that it is an antibody test.

You can get a PCR test for any number of reasons, you don’t have to isolate, I’ve just ordered one myself for another reason, no one checks anyway

NotSonicTheHedgehog · 15/07/2021 22:32

Thank you all. Guess I’ll just order it and if a PCR comes l’ll keep it for the inevitable Grin
