Can employers still insist on staff and customers wearing masks on 19 july

A family member said her boss is saying he's still saying they have to staff and customers. She can't find guidance on this? She's exempt so makes no odds but she's concerned there will be backlash from customers.

Have they made it company policy?

No the law has been removed....they can request but not insist

Its private property, they can insist on whatever conditions of entry they like as long as its not a protected characteristic. People who are exempt can legally be denied entry even now, although they mostly aren't.

Technically they could if they added it formally to the uniform with a contract adjustment. Just like transport providers could make it a condition of carriage.

Without making this legal change im unsure if it’s enforceable.

I think the statement about conditions of entry for customers above is correct too.

I’ll still wear one anyway.

Any shop, office or pub/restaurant can set their own policy and if that is masks then yes, they can insist.

If they can insist on a dress code for staff and customers, presumably they can insist that it includes a mask.
