Anyone else got the stomach bug that’s going around?

There are loads of people I know with it.
Is it a covid symptom or is it a D+V bug?

I'm not sure anyone can answer that can they?

There will be people with a stomach bug and no covid, people who have a stomach bug and covid and they aren't related and people where they are.

Bit of a piece of string question but the Zoe is app is best for spotting new symptoms I believe

Manchester City council released a poster saying diarrhoea and sickness were common symptoms of the delta variant

Silversun83 · 14/07/2021 12:33

What they believed to be norovirus went around my DC's primary school a few weeks ago. They had so many off with it they had to inform PHE.

DC had it though touch wood I implemented strict Covid-protection protocols and the rest of the household didn't Grin

I think a lot of usual winter bugs are circulating now due to not doing so during lockdown.

Though D&V can also be symptoms of Covid.

Daughter had it, and was sent home from school. Lasted two days, but she wasn’t feeling ill (except the occasional PV).

Fortunately the school is pretty broad minded, and didn’t say anything about covid.

Back in today.

It's most definitely a COVID symptom, although that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't a common or garden stomach bug.

DS had just D&V for the first 24 hours with the delta variant, as did everyone else who caught at the same event, followed by cold/hayfever symptoms.

SonnetForSpring · 14/07/2021 12:51

Yes it's a covid symptom

MotherOfDemons · 14/07/2021 12:57

Norovirus has struck in our area recently, with cases on our wards. We didn't get it over winter due to restrictions but now everything is easing all the other "regular" illnesses are prevailing again,

Comefromaway · 14/07/2021 12:58

Several of dd's classmates who tested positive for covid following contact with someone, had sickness & diarrhoea.

Alfiemoon1 · 14/07/2021 13:11

It is a covid symptom but could also just be a stomach bug

Holothane · 14/07/2021 13:13

I had one about six weeks ago dreadful.

mancarose · 14/07/2021 13:20

I had the symptoms with COVID it was awful D&V lasting 10 days it's way more severe than you're normal few day D&V. But you should expect an increased amount of stomach bugs and colds going around as we've all been locked up for so long!
