How many women of child bearing age have had vaccine?

I'll admit I'm getting myself in a state about vaccines here. I've been reading about changes to menstrual cycle after vaccination and furious that these concerns seem to be brushed off. I've been on one of the gov stats pages that says there have been 20,000 reports of changes to periods out of 41,000,000 women who have been vaccinated. Is there anywhere I can view how many of these 41,000,000 are of period having age?
I'm so worried by reports of people saying they've missed ovulation or haven't had periods after. What if your body just can't get back into a rhythm?! Surely the stress of a vaccine shouldn't cause months of changes? I'm so so close to cancelling first vaccine appointment and don't know what to do. I've never been anti vaccine and I'm surprised at myself. Argh.

Child bearing age here. Double jabbed. No change to cycle whatsoever

Wowzel · 13/07/2021 21:47

I had the vaccine and am of child bearing age. No period issues here.

goddessofmischief · 13/07/2021 21:48

Child bearing age. Double jabbed. Been on the pill for over two years which stopped my periods. No change for me.

Reallyreallyborednow · 13/07/2021 21:49

It happens with every vaccine. Not unique to covid.

If vaccines caused infertility I think someone would have noticed, as women are still having babies despite the vast majority having had some sort of vaccine over their lifetime.

doesparentingsuck · 13/07/2021 21:52

Had the had only one about six weeks ago - it made my period arrive early by about five days which never happens.

I haven't had a period since as found out today I'm pregnant! So fingers crossed all goes well but I can't lie and say I'm not worried. Especially given I am suffering from Covid at the minute. It's a worrying time

ParkingFeud · 13/07/2021 21:53

Thanks so much all, I think these threads usually attract people who have experienced changes and it sends me into panic mode and a negative spiral! Please keep these coming, hopefully it will be useful for others who are worried too. Thanks again, it's really reassuring

Changes to cycles after the vaccine are only temporary and not long lasting. Hormones and the immune system are linked. The immune system stores and synthesises hormones.

Whilst your body is having an immune response to the vaccine it's not unreasonable to experience a change in hormones and cycles during that immune response.

After my 2nd vaccine I experienced 2 or 3 migraines. For me - migraines are triggered by hormonal changes. It's all settled down now and there has been no lasting issues.

I’ve had both mine and my period was bang on time after my first one and I’ve only just had my second one so I’m not due a period yet.

Brokenrecord3006 · 13/07/2021 21:57

Child bearing age and double jabbed, all fine. Although if the jabs made us infertile I'd consider it a bonus Grin

sauvignonblue · 13/07/2021 21:57

No change to menstrual cycle for me. Keep remembering that for the vast majority having the vaccine is a non-event with no discernible side effects beyond perhaps feeling slightly unwell for a day. You only hear people shouting who feel it has had an effect on them.

I’ve had my first jab, due my second in a few weeks. I’m TTC and based on OPKs and when my period came, there were no changes to my cycle after I had the vaccine.

89redballoons · 13/07/2021 22:00

I've always had a really irregular cycle (PCOS). Miraculously got pregnant without any intervention a couple of years ago and was breastfeeding my son until quite recently.

Since stopping breastfeeding I've had 3 periods on a 5 week cycle which is amazing for me!

My first vaccine was two weeks after the first period and my second one is due soon.

Same here
NameChange74567 · 13/07/2021 22:01

I haven't been vaccinated but my cycle changed after I had covid.

Smartiepants79 · 13/07/2021 22:02

I’m 42, double jabbed. No issues with periods to report!

TuesdayRuby · 13/07/2021 22:02

Child bearing age, just! I had Pfizer and my last two periods have been earlier than usual. My cycle shortened by a couple of days. Bit weird, but I’m not having any more children so not too bothered.

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 13/07/2021 22:04

I have been double jabbed and my periods are all over the place since (3 months since my 2nd jab).

They change when I get stressed, or poorly, or take various types of medication or change my diet as well though.

I don't think its unusual or anything to worry about at all.

enjoyingscience · 13/07/2021 22:06

Double jabbed with AZ here - periods 5 days early for two months now back to normal.

elsaesmeralda · 13/07/2021 22:08

Only had one so far but my two periods since have both been bang on, but both were lighter than usual. I'm currently undergoing ivf and the lighter periods could just be (probably are) due to my body being messed around from the medication from my last ivf cycle. I was really worried about the vaccine initially but decided to just go ahead and have it due to wanting to protect my son more than anything.

whatswithtodaytoday · 13/07/2021 22:08

Yup, me and as far as I know all my friends. Certainly everyone was excited to get it. My period wasn't affected at all, some were a bit early/late/heavy/light.

Your uterus is connected to your immune response, so it makes sense periods would be affected. I often have a delayed period when I'm ill.

elsaesmeralda · 13/07/2021 22:09

I've had Pfizer btw

MolyHolyGuacamole · 13/07/2021 22:09

37, double jabbed, no changes to cycle

akwhdhdbaa · 13/07/2021 22:09

Two jabs, early 30s, no changes to period after either jab. Not at all concerned by this.

SGChome20 · 13/07/2021 22:10

My baby was 3 months when I had my first jab. Double jabbed now and there have been no changes. Periods have been back to normal since baby was 8 weeks.
