Travel isolation weird calls....

Hi

Mum came to visit from Amber country and so is isolating.

Both our phones are receiving calls from 03001232008. It's supposedly the NHS. Maybe track and trace?

However, the number rings once and turns off anyone had this?

Guys, are they tracking the phone when you don't even pick up?

Not without a court order, no. Dh works in telecoms and security for mobile services providers, there is no facility for phone tracking available to t&t at present.

Many calls they need to make. You’ll have someone dropping the call and counting it

It's likely an automated dialler system, they essentially work by calling lots of numbers at once then once they connect to a person the call is transferred to an agents headset to have the conversation.

Sometimes they call say 30 numbers and all 30 connect but they only have 15 people available to connect them to so the other 15 drop. It's an issue and usually means someone has 'turned up' the dialler too fast. There are laws around it as it classes as harassment or some such legal term to call and disconnect more than a certain number of times within a 72 hr period.

That is very annoying.....

Yes I'm isolating at the mo and obviously they've now had to contract out test and trace calls to foreign call centres.the first person I could barely understand so asked them to call back then I had about 8 calls where there was noone on the end of the line .finally I got a very nice lady who luckily spoke very good english ad you are on the phone for a loooong time.
