Can't get a PCR test

DS has been sent home from school with a head ache and can't return until he has a negative PCR test, I went online to book one and it's coming up as none available anywhere in England.

Surely this isn't correct? What am I doing wrong....

Seems odd though, I’m in a hot spot area and got a test the same day.

But yeah that’s just at test sites, does it say available for ordering home test? Mine does

I did order a home test, I just thought it was off there were no walk in/ drive thru tests available.

Just been back on and there are tests available for tomorrow now, very strange!

The availability is refreshed at certain times depending on future availability and which sites are open. You need to keep checking.

Ah thanks @KittyMcKitty both times previously I have had to order PCR test they were readily available so I assumed I had done something wrong.

Home test is on its way anyway.

They release the slots in waves throughout the day. Just try every 15 mins.

I looked at around 1.15pm today and by 2.30pm was supervising DS (15) doing his test in a drive through centre. In fact I could have done one 15 mins later but wouldn't have quite got there in time. When I looked there was availability literally everywhere. Is it perhaps something to do with selecting "walk through" during the first part when start the process online? I'm sure there were 2 points in the process where I had to say whether I wanted walk through or drive through.

That is a slot was available in 15 mins, whilst I was going through the booking steps online, but I couldn't get there in time.

119 have no additional supply. I had to call them earlier because my home test was missing bits and they were able to authorise a new one but not actually order one as there was no availability at that time. I was able to order one online about ten minutes later.

Yeah you’ll need to try later or book for next day have you clicked for today or tomorrow ? as slots may have gone by now. Order online and it should arrive tomorrow then do the test and should get the results next morning or just try later .

I don't quite know what the system is, but you have to check in the evening for them to refresh. Sometimes it's down after 4, sometimes not til after 5
