Thought my arm felt a bit sore. Had a look and it's all red and sore! Had moderna over a week ago and thought I'd be done with side effects now. So annoying. Anyone else had this?

mrsawhite · 13/07/2021 17:04

Yeah I had it with the AZ, red, hot and itchy as fuck! Lasted a week, Benadryl helped.

mrsawhite · 13/07/2021 17:24

It's bloody annoying. My arm was sore for a couple of days. Thought great that's that. Now here are well over a week after and this starts. Grrrr

I had it with my first moderna jab. Was told to take an antihistamine after my second jab and didn't get covid arm.

Rockitrosie · 13/07/2021 17:27

Yes I too suffered from “covid arm” with moderna. Was very sore that day and next day even worse and moved to my shoulders and back. The bruise lasted over a week!
Dh had same vaccine and had NO side affects at all. It’s weird!

Rockitrosie · 13/07/2021 17:28

Il try that antihistamine trick when I have my 2nd thanks Sonnet.

Lweji · 13/07/2021 17:29

It's Moderna arm. It's been in the news

mrsawhite · 13/07/2021 17:30

It's the delayed reaction that baffles me. Why a week later?!

ScarlettSunset · 13/07/2021 17:31

I had it. Sore arm for a few days, that went away but then a week after the jab, had a big, itchy red rash on my arm. Not had second jab yet so don't know if it'll happen again

mrsawhite · 13/07/2021 17:35

How long did the rash last?

OP posts:
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/07/2021 17:46

Most of my symptoms were delayed, it's not uncommon.

mrsawhite · 13/07/2021 17:47

Gawd. DH was really unwell after second dose. Can't say I'm looking forward to it!

I had 'covid arm' for a month after my second pfizer.

mrsawhite · 13/07/2021 18:02
Shock

Yep, had it with pfizer at day 8. GP insisted it was nothing to do with my vaccine and gave antibiotics in case it was collitis. I was then allergic to the antibiotics and very poorly. Arm went down overnight and completely normal 48-72 hours after it had appeared. Had my second jab today so will see how I get on.

rbe78 · 13/07/2021 18:23

Yep, I had it with Moderna - it appeared a week to the day after my first jab. Big red itchy rash in a circle round the injection site, about 4 inches diameter. Was very hot to the touch. Lasted about three days. I had no other side effects other than a sore arm for the first couple of days after the jab.

mrsawhite · 13/07/2021 18:30

So strange how it effects people differently!

OP posts:
Silkiecats · 13/07/2021 20:47

Yes I had it down both arms red rash, not sore after AZ, lasted a few weeks, looked like tiny blood spots.

Distiller91 · 13/07/2021 21:28

Had my first moderna at 9 this morning. My arm is absolutely killing me now, gonna be a restless night i think 😴

mrsawhite · 13/07/2021 21:59

My arm was so sore for 2 days!

OP posts:
Lweji · 13/07/2021 22:51

It's at about the time the body mounts a strong immune response. And the antigens it mounts it to are located on the arm.
It takes a couple of weeks from the last jab to be fully vaccinated.

RLOU30 · 13/07/2021 23:00

This is what happened to mine 6 days after Moderna. It spread and lasted a week.

delilahbucket · 14/07/2021 17:18

To those who have a sore arm straight after the jab, that isn't Covid Arm. You will find the pain much better if you keep your arm moving. I've had both of mine in my dominant arm because I sleep on the other side, but it has meant that it only hurts when I stop moving it regularly.
