Covid vaccine after c section ?

Hi all, looking for people’s experiences.. I had a c section around 2.5 weeks ago. I chose not to have the covid vaccine during pregnancy and now I am looking to have my first dose.. each professional I have spoken to has given different advice, midwife said go for the vaccine straight away and there no need to delay !! Gp said at this stage it should be ok and the nurse advises it may be best to wait until 6 week check. I really want to go for it but my concerns are.. it’s early days.. I’m ok but still sore from section and if I develop a temp/become unwell how are professionals able to determine if I am unwell from section or vaccine? No one seems to be concerned about that . I am most likely over thinking this but annoyed at differing opinions … help x

Personally I would wait until your incision has healed, but before your 6 week checkup, or you could book it and talk to the doctors at the vaccination site, as they are probably the best people to ask.

I'd also wait and I'm totally pro vaccine. It's not just a possible temperature, but the bleeds reported. It could mean lots of unnecessary tests/examinations etc. Unless you are planning travelling/concerts/lots of mixing, the delay won't matter.

I am also pro vaccine but would wait. After both of my c sections my immune system was way down and I caught everything going because I lost so much blood, maybe get your strength back first.

That said if you are going out and about a lot or have another child in childcare and are exposed quite a lot to actual covid then maybe best go for it now.

I think I'd wait too, I am very pro-vaccine but you're recovering from surgery and you need to know how your body is responding to that.

Had mine today at 15 days post section. On site Dr was not concerned as I had not had to do then fragmin injections. If I had they’d have wanted me to wait.

Will report back if any issues but fingers crossed I’ll be fine

Thanks everyone, I will mull it over

@DJS88 do you mean the blood thinning injections ? I had them for 10 days
