In contact with positive case outside school. Not contacted by test and trace, what next?

DD has had close contact with someone who subsequently tested positive for covid. She hasn't been contacted by test and trace (though I'm not sure you always are)

Do I self isolate her and tell her school, will they ask for proof?

Thanks!

Also it was at her grandmother's who dropped her off quickly Sunday night without coming in, so I assume that the rest of us don't need to isolate?

Hello. Yes dd needs to isolate, I'm finding many people are not giving contacts to test and trace anymore to be honest but if you know she is a contact she should not go into school.,
No the rest of family don't though if they have not been in contact with confirmed case, although depending how old dd is you may find yourself in anyway obviously.

I work in a school and we don't ask for proof. We'd happily accept your word for it, esp with rates as high as they are now, as proof if so often hard to come by.

That's good. This family member is a bit difficult and I don't think they'd provide their details.
