Have to isolate

So, my nhs app pinged today saying that I need to isolate.
But I've barely been anywhere. I could understand if someone in my house tested positive, or a friend I've had over, or someone who's house I've visited.
But I've genuinely not left the house in 4 days and no one has visited. Apart from taking my daughter to her horse riding lesson. I've been decorating the house for 4 days solid.
My husbands app hasn't pinged so he's free to leave the house still, as is my daughter who was having the lesson.
I was sat in a spectators area at the stables, 2 metres apart from other parents, in an almost open to the elements shed type structure, whilst wearing a mask for 30 minutes.
Yet still the app deems I've had enough close contact to need to isolate for 9 days.
Is it me, or is the app seriously flawed?

Yes , many will come on and tell you to ignore .
The app works through blue tooth so it’s your phone that’s been in close contact not necessarily you . If your certain you’ve not been in close contact then ignore .

I've already told work about the notification so I guess I'll have to isolate.
At least I get paid. But it's a pain in the arse as the kids have loads on as it's the end of term.

This is why many have either deleted the app/ turned contract tracing off/ ignore any pings.

isolationstationnation · 12/07/2021 22:40

After this isolation I'm turning mine off.

In your situation it sound utterly ridiculous to isolate. Use some common sense for goodness sake. I’m sure you’d feel differently if your employer wasn’t paying.

LadyCatStark · 12/07/2021 22:42

Yes it’s ridiculous. I guess the app doesn’t know whether you’re indoors or outdoors though…

Unanananana · 12/07/2021 22:47

Ignore the damn thing. Its not fit for purpose and is not connected to Test and Trace. Good grief, so many people using this piece of crap. I'm surprised so many people can afford to take ten days off for such a flimsy reason.

isolationstationnation · 12/07/2021 22:50

Yes if my employer wasn't paying then I'm not sure what I'd do.
But I approached my boss today, told him the circumstances and he insisted I followed the app instructions.
I guess he's worried that the whole business would shut down if we all ended up with covid.
It's a big national chain and their advice is isolation notifications must be followed.
