The BBC website just says "later today"!

Wilkolampshade · 12/07/2021 09:56

I know, that's what I got when I googled... Just wondered if anyone had more detailed info...

Reckon it’ll be at 5 as usual but we’ll have to wait for it to be confirmed

Wilkolampshade · 12/07/2021 09:59

Grrr.... Leave fr work at 4:30 and was hoping to catch it live. 🙄 Don't even know why really. Maybe just looking to break the days up....

They’ve not said. I’ll be at work but TBF it’s always easier and quicker to wait until after it and get a summary from the news.

I am sure there will be tons of threads on here immediately questioning everything.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 12/07/2021 10:05

Dont they normally discuss it in Parliament first? Might hear something on that channel around 12-2

Sparklingbrook · 12/07/2021 10:06

Isn’t there normally a leak? One of the papers always gets it right. Can’t remember which.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 12/07/2021 10:16

It's usually broadcast live on 5 live if you're not going to be near a tv. R4 tends to have highlights on the PM prog, although may broadcast the actual Boris bit.

noenergy · 12/07/2021 10:29

What's it about today?

Wilkolampshade · 12/07/2021 10:31

Nah, I'll be on the tube and have to have phone off later anyway.
Pathetic isn't it. I feel completely ambivalent about the whole thing but today, I have to admit, I'm feeling very 'are we nearly there yet?!?!? ... Confused

@noenergy

What's it about today?
What may or may not be happening on 19/7.
JustMeAndWheatley · 12/07/2021 14:11

Being discussed in the Commons at 3.30 pm, Boris announcement at 5

SophieB100 · 12/07/2021 14:30

Yes it's at five, with Whitty and Valance on backing vocals.
Can't wait Wink

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/07/2021 14:32

They'll leak it to The Mail first so everyone gets used to the idea first then announce it later this afternoon. Feels a bit gloom and doom.

BarefootHippieChick · 12/07/2021 14:36

Yes it's at five, with Whitty and Valance on backing vocals. Can't wait

Cafeaulait27 · 12/07/2021 14:37

Backing vocals 😁😁😁

Wilkolampshade · 12/07/2021 14:44

Coolio, will catch the pre-announcement announcement then... Thanks all.

Mumdiva99 · 12/07/2021 14:49

Isn't it already leaked....we won't make you wear masks every wear but you must use them on public transport.
We are opening up but cases will rise....your fault if you are ill....

knittingaddict · 12/07/2021 15:35

My husband said it looks like easing of restrictions is going ahead as planned. I assume he got this from the BBC or work colleagues. Can't stand to see or hear BJ, so will rely on news sources to confirm later.

Manzanilla55 · 12/07/2021 16:05

I am sick and tired of these broadcasts so will just catch the highlights on the news instead.

ColettesEarrings · 12/07/2021 16:08

Basically it's all going ahead. Businesses and large events encouraged to use "certification" to ensure safety ie. a likely push on vaccine passports, and masks to still be encouraged and expected. The only new thing was an announcement that they will not now charge for lfts, in contrast to recent reports.
