Difficulty swallowing with covid

I am on day 8 with covid now. Very mild symptoms so far apart from the fact that I am now feel that i am struggling to swallow. I don’t even have a sore throat but do have a runny nose and feel very slightly rattly on my chest. I don’t suffer health anxiety at all. Am pretty laid back but have in the past suffered from a choking phobia but not severe. I can drink fine but feel like I can’t eat anything at all now. Had a bit of a panic attack last night thinking I was struggling to swallow my saliva. My partner gave me half of one of his diazipam which I know would not be recommended but it did work. I calmed down and could swallow saliva again but I am frightened to eat anything solid. Does this sound covid related to anyone else?

Could you have oral thrush?

Youre throat is probably clogged with catarrh if youre snotty. This makes it really hard for me to swallow and think ive something stuck in my throat when eating.

If hot drinks are better you could try something like hot chocolate with lots of cream, sugar and some protein powder or soup.

Thanks all. Think I have got myself into a bit of a panic about it. Will try a hot choc x

I haven't had covid but I did get something similar as a side effect to my first AZ jab, I woke up in the night and couldn't swallow my saliva properly and it made me panic a bit and sort of choking/gasping, I got up and I had to keep drinking.
