I'm 23 weeks pregnant and tested positive for covid a few days ago. Feel like Iv got a really bad cold and sinus infection, baby is still moving but no where near as much as he usually does, is this normal? Iv not been taking any pain killers as I'm worried it will harm him. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

It's unlikely that covid will have caused reduced movements - but any change in movements should always be checked out. Call your midwife, though I'm not sure what they will be able to do and if it would be allowed for you to attend for a scan to check everything's okay.

Always advised to speak to your midwife about reduced movements - COVID or no COVID! They will have some kind of plan in place for those who are COVID+.

Surely your midwife is your first port of call if you have any concerns at all about the baby.

PlateSpinnerJuggler · 10/07/2021 11:09

Not to be repetitive - please call your midwife - covid or not if you're noticing reduced movement. They'll have ways in place - just like district nurses would visit covid positive patients throughout height of pandemic - put you and baba first and reach out.
Also, it's been a number of years since I've been pregnant but I'm sure paracetamol is not an issue in pregnancy? So don't be a martyr - take some so your symptoms feel lessened and your body gets more rest for u and your baba

Thanks everyone, just feel silly ringing them! But typical after I posted this he's not stopped moving since (not that I'm complaining)
