Hi does anyone know what a 30 somethings risk of hospitalisation, ventilation and death is post second-dose vaccination? My brother is healthy 30 year old mortally afraid of covid and is no longer participating in society in any way and I want to try and bring him statistics that apply to his situation.

One thing that might help reassure him (but perhaps not his wife or girlfriend) is that it seems to be women who are at higher risk of long term Covid disability (Long Covid).

Another reassurance might be the data from America. As he's under 40, I'm presuming he had Pfizer or Moderna (guessing he's not a health or social care worker if he's not participating in society).

In America, where they're mostly using mRNA vaccines - Pfizer and Moderna - 99.5% of the deaths are now in the unvaccinated.

Thank you! He's had Pfizer. He keeps saying people are still dying post-vaccine, including young people. And that even if he didn't die, he doesn't want to end up on a ventilator.

The data coming from America looks promising for Pfizer. 99.5% of the deaths are in the unvaccinated.

And it's also spreading in the unvaccinated areas of America. Vaccines definitely seem to be working well.

Suggest to him that he takes baby steps. A walk into town or something small, to get used to being back outside.

He should also speak to his doctor. Perhaps some CBT or similar to help with the anxiety.
