App notification to self isolate for 6 days?

Just received one…I have been double jabbed and just done a LFT which is negative.

I’m assuming I came into this close contact 4 days ago if they are telling me to self isolate for 6 days?

Just interested in how many people have done daily LFT’s and not self isolated after a ping from the app?
And also, what is the difference with the test and trace? Is it more accurate if you get a phone call than the app?

It’s legally enforceable if you get a phone call

Sunshineandflipflops · 09/07/2021 17:36

@ineedaholidaynow but not via the app?

There are hundreds of threads asking exactly the same question - would be worth looking at some of those

@DirtySofa I had a quick look but couldn’t see what I was looking for so thought I’d start a new thread and someone might respond.

Track and trace is the phone call and that is legally enforceable. You may get visited and could get fined.

The sodding app is advisory and the internet is littered with stories of being pinged for not at all close contact.

Now that we now daily LF are ok for double vaccinated from 16th August I would assume most people would go with that now rather than isolate. Then delete the app.

Sunshineandflipflops · 09/07/2021 17:50

Thanks @pommedeterre, that’s what I was going to go with. If I get a call then obviously I will isolate and I will do daily LFT’s for the next 6 days.

I got pinged for a 4 day isolation. I traced it back to a pub, where I sat outside and well distanced from other tables. I did stay mostly at home except walking my dog round deserted local streets and did LFT every day. I’m double jabbed and knew my risk of having Covid was negligible. Very annoying. I have since deleted the App.

Sunshineandflipflops · 09/07/2021 17:55

Yes, I have now deleted it too.

Delete the app and ignore it

N4ish · 09/07/2021 18:04

Surprised you still have the app! I thought most people either never had it or deleted it long ago.

Sunshineandflipflops · 09/07/2021 18:12

@N4ish I’ve always been a bit slow to catch up 😂

I haven't been pinged (yet). My 19 year old has and didn't want it on her conscious that she'd go on to spread it to someone elderly/vulnerable/her loved ones. She isolated despite work saying they were happy for her to go in.
