I have booked a trip to majorca for this Sunday and have only just realised how late I have left the covid test.
I am so confused. On the government website it says I need to get a test which can be pcr, lamp, tma or near. Would I be able to get an antigen test at the airport or is that different to lamp? Sorry if that sounds really stupid of me I am just so confused.
Also, if I can't get that test at the airport does anyone have any idea on how I can get a result back before Sunday? Thank you for any help!!

It depends which airport. Manchester airport are doing tests with results in 2 hours I think, so I’m sure other major airports will as well. Have a look at the website for the airport you’re flying from.

The second photo is screenshot from Birmingham Airport. But is the antigen test and the lamp the same thing?

The bit you have circled says antigen is not accepted?

Plantsandwine · 08/07/2021 12:49

I didn't even see that. 😕
Would it be possible for me to get results from a pcr test for Sunday or have I left it too late?

Spain dont accept lateral flow tests. You need to get a NAAT test within 48 hours before your arrival time, which is tight. You can get LAMP or PCR. The tests that are acceptable are listed on your first image. I am also flying from Birmingham. The lateral flow tests are not acceptable for Spanish destinations. You need to book a rapid turn round test somewhere. I am using ExpressTest as rhey gwt results back within 48 hours and are reasonably prices. There are other options. LAMP tests are back within hours, but there were none near me and these arent the ones offered at Birmingham airport.

@Plantsandwine There are lots of 48 hour return test providers and also some 24 hour test providers. As others have said, LAMP tests can come back in a few hours. You'll need to find a provider and book a test. Unless you're doubly vacvinated? Have you got your test to return and day 2 test sorted also?

Where are you OP? There's lots of places in London that do same-day PCR tests. I got one for a trip to Mallorca last week. I return to the U.K. on Sunday and yesterday booked my test to return. There's loads of places doing them here, you don't need to sort that one before you go.

Thank you for all your replies. I am in Nottingham and have done a Google search and found somewhere that does a test with results within 36 hours.
Thank you again, I was so confused when I was searching this morning.
I haven't booked a day 2 test, I am guessing I need to book that now too 😔

@Plantsandwine you'll need your day 2 test booked before you can come home, the code etc needs to go on your passenger locator form that you'll need to fill in

If you’re able to get to East Midlands airport randox are doing 12 hour PCR tests for £70 and when I looked earlier had plenty of availability. (I thought I was doing to need a second one because I messed up the registration but all sorted after an hour on hold!) I had mine first thing this morning, so should have results this evening.
