Worried about 2nd Pfizer jab

Rainydays55 · 07/07/2021 07:53

I reacted to the first, on and off feeling really dizzy, spaced out, just not with it this was especially worse on week 4…. I know I need to have the second one and I feel really lucky we have the chance to but at the same time I’m really worried about reacting again. The first time it was horrible. How’s everyone else been after their second one?

I was fine with both of mine, as was my dh, everybody is going to react differently.

Muddydoor · 07/07/2021 09:27

I was fine with both too. Do you know any breathing exercises, that may help? When I feel anxious, I breathe in for 9 and out for 11. Count the numbers fast, and don’t hold your breath.

Not saying this will stop your reaction, but it might.

QueenStromba · 07/07/2021 09:33

I was pretty I'll after the first one but better after the second.

GremlinDolphin4 · 07/07/2021 15:23

I was completely knocked out by both of mine and not looking forward to my 3rd! It only lasts 24 hours for me and feels reminiscent of when I had Covid but not as bad or as long so I can put up with it. Good luck, hope you feel ok. X

oscarandelliesdad · 07/07/2021 15:28

I felt knocked out after my first but no real reaction at all after my second, apart from the sore arm

Petal12 · 07/07/2021 17:22

I can sympathise! Same symptoms as you, lasted for roughly 6 weeks, I can function now but still not 100%. My second is booked for 31st July and I feel pressure to have it but I’m undecided. I’ve spoken to GP who says he can’t attribute my symptoms directly to the jab and he also can’t advise me whether to have the second or offer any alternatives

Parky04 · 07/07/2021 17:25

No side effects with either of mine. With the delta variant ripping through, it's so important to have your second jab!

EarlyApple · 07/07/2021 20:47

I posted worried about my second Pfizer jab last month too. I got lots of reassurance on here.
Anyway, it was fine in the end . I had a day of feeling v tired after it, and a sore arm (but had had a week in bed with every side effect going after the first one, and felt off for much longer).

3rd?

With the first I had a horrible headache for one day and then was fine. I had my second on Saturday and after a few days of feeling really tired, my body aching and feeling weak, I feel a lot better today. I think everyone reacts differently but it has got to be better than getting covid.

magicstar1 · 07/07/2021 21:13

On my first I had two days of nausea and tiredness. I’ve got my second tomorrow afternoon...hopefully it’ll be mild after effects if any. DH and both my parents had no reactions to theirs.

Timeandtidal · 07/07/2021 21:18

Much fewer side effects when I had second Pfizer. First jab had.me bed bound for a couple of days and second was just a sore arm. Having the full dose is only a good thing given this Delta strain.

My youngest son had his first Pfizer jab a couple of days ago (he's immunosupressed for a chronic condition). He had no side effects except for a weird one - he developed hiccups which lasted a bit more than 24 hours. They will come and go on its own and there was no remedy for them. He gave a call to his GP yesterday and was told that yes, they are a very rare side effect of some Covid vaccines.

I've had the first Pfizer jab. For weeks, I had a woozy headache, headaches, and felt spaced out.
I think I feel better now. But now I'm due the second jab, and afraid of getting the same (or worse symptoms).

Rainydays55 · 09/07/2021 20:20

I know I shouldn’t worry about it when really the most sensible thing is to have it done but I just feel really cautious after my first one .

I felt like you did but for 48 hours then it was gone. I’ve had both doses now and I’m fine.

allgoodthings84 · 09/07/2021 23:19

I felt horrendous after my first but no one effects at all after my second

magicstar1 · 10/07/2021 11:46

I had my second on Thursday and I’m fine. About an hour of nausea and I slept a bit when I got home, but that’s all.

TheVolturi · 10/07/2021 12:08

I had my 2nd on Wednesday. I felt rough the first night, then a bit wiped out the day after. I'm still feeling not 100% and I have an upset stomach. Yesterday had a bad migraine.
I did feel rubbish for a while after my first one so hoping it will all pass soon.

Emanchego · 10/07/2021 12:13

Had the first one, had two periods since then, i'm definitely having the delayed periods i keep reading about. Spotting then come on properly four days later.

OneHundredTrees · 10/07/2021 13:33

I had no side effects, at all. Didn't notice any differences, no sore arm or tiredness - just totally normal.

magicstar1 · 10/07/2021 18:21

@Emanchego I forgot to mention about the periods. I haven’t had one since my first jab… I was spotting and starting one on Thursday, but the second jab seems to have stopped it.
