Help! T&T email and app - different self isolation dates

DS is currently self isolating with COVID, he has an email from track and trace that says he needs to self isolate until 7 July (10 days after the first symptoms) but the app is telling him to self isolate until 8 July (10 days after the positive PCR test that he took on day 2 of symptoms) Hmm Anyone have any idea which one is correct?

He's fully recovered apart from a residual cough and LFTs have been negative for the past 3 days. But he doesn't want to risk a fine...

It’s 10 days after symptoms start

Thanks for replying. He knows what it should be, @mightyducks. It was more from the "legal" point of view IYSWIM? Can he ignore the app?

I was hoping some of the posters from previous threads who work for T&T might know the answer.

The app is not legally enforceable the way T&T is

I had the same issue, with my positive test. I phoned track and trace and they said go by what you have been emailed rather than the app. The app isn’t a legal requirement, but being contacted by track and trace is. I hope that helps 😁

Thanks, @choccielover36!
