Question - I know if you're contacted by NHS Test & Trace you are legally obliged to self isolate however I thought I read that that's not the case for the app? And that the app is advisory rather than law. Does anyone know if that's the case?

Yes that's right. Delete the app

CornishGem1975 · 05/07/2021 21:51

Really?! I thought both would be a legal obligation.

The app is anonymous and works on Bluetooth so T&T wouldn't know you'd been notified so there's no way to police if people are complying with it

Missfelipe · 05/07/2021 21:57

Is that right? I got notified to isolate 3 days ago by the app and I cannot work out how it’s happened as I didn’t see anyone at the time I’ve allegedly been in close contact with a positive case. And I mean that I didn’t leave the house in that 24hrs…how does that work?

floatingboater · 05/07/2021 22:00

Someone I know had an alert on the app and she rang 119 to ask about it as she hadn't left the house that day - they told her they'd been having loads of issues and just ignore it. You could get pinged from someone in the house next door testing positive, or some randomer parked outside.

PandemicPalava · 05/07/2021 22:12

@Missfelipe I was pinged as my neighbour has Covid and we aren't 2m apart when we sit on the sofa ..: through the wall. Could a neighbour have it?

CornishGem1975 · 06/07/2021 12:49

I've deleted the app. I keep hearing too many stories of people being told to isolate when they've not been near anyone.
