Hospital visiting

plumdeplum · 05/07/2021 18:59

I cannot find anything on today's restrictions easing on visiting in hospitals after the 19th July. My daughter is in a rehabilitation hospital and I have not seen her in the longest time save for 30 mins once a week. Can anyone please advise if they have any info on what visiting might look like?

Thank you

I’m not sure NHS England will have updated guidance yet, will be interesting to see their position on SD and masks too.

imaginethemdragons · 06/07/2021 18:06

Can you not ring the facility itself and ask?

Fitforforty · 06/07/2021 18:07

Hospital trusts set their own rules. With the case numbers rising I can’t imagine visiting rules will be changing any time soon unfortunately.

MadisonAvenue · 06/07/2021 18:12

Our local Trust have banned visiting again as of this week.

LIZS · 06/07/2021 18:16

I don't think hospital rules will be relaxing back to pre covid while there are still cases. Each trust will determine its own visiting policy.

BlessedBeTheFruitandNut · 06/07/2021 18:17

The Trust I work at have announced there will be no change to the restricted visiting policy after 19th July. I would imagine many if not all Trusts will do the same

LeroyJenkinssss · 06/07/2021 18:20

It varies. We allow one visitor per patient once per day for 45 mins. Only two visitors per bay so there are bookable time slots.

What have the hospital said when you ring them?

mostprobablyyes · 06/07/2021 18:36

NHS trusts won't change their procedures based on the government guidelines, they'll do their own risk assessments. Sorry OP, it must be so hard for you Sad

plumdeplum · 06/07/2021 19:18

They have not said anything yet and won't be pressed on it. The rehabilitation hospital is not part of the NHS. I wonder if they will follow PHE guidance? or the local PH. Looking at the replies so far it looks as if there will continue to be restricted visiting. It's just too awful to contemplate another year of this. Thank you for your replies.
