Is it no masks by law but you can if you want in ALL settings?

I didn't quite catch the wording but saw on sky that they're saying it's not law you have to wear masks in any setting (after the 19th)

Does this mean employers can't enforce, they can just recommend? I'm thinking hospitals / public transport workers etc.

I'm not saying anyone should or would, I'm just curious as to whether anyone can continue to be told they have to if they didn't want to.

Hope that makes sense!

I'm going to buy a nice scary clown mask to wear at doctors/ dentist/hospital etc -it's still a mask innit?

The owners of a private property (eg a shop, restaurant) can impose any conditions they want and deny entry to anyone they want, subject only to rules around discrimination.

Therefore, I suspect many businesses can and will continue to demand a mask and refuse entry to those who refuse (perhaps subject to a medical exemption if they wish).

There's a raft of private businesses I follow on social media all announced they will be continuing to ask customers to wear masks.

I work for the NHS and I've checked my emails tonight and they have issued a statement advising following tonight's announcement the trust will be reviewing mask wearing however for the foreseeable future we will be expected to wear them

Guessing they may say if your in an office sat down, masks off just put them on when you move about?? And staff on wards to wear them at times maybe??

Any other nHS workers had anything?

I guess it's like uniform. You can pretty much tell your employees what to wear, subject to reasonable exceptions (i.e. equality legislation).

Women can't be forced to wear high heels if men are wearing flats because it's sexist. So... I'd imagine everyone can be forced to wear face masks unless they have a disability.
